I’ve done every setting in safe mode. No luck. The controller will just do one orange flash if its full or loop orange if it’s charging. On very rare occasions the controller will connect but has gotten worse over time, I mean weeks apart with no apparent reason. During that time I turned on remote play. I still have access to the ps5 due to remote play and as well as my tv’s remote. If I forget my controller in the bluetooth accessories tab in settings, and reconnect it with the usb it shows that it has been registered but not paired. Turning on USB mode does nothing. I’ve tested other ps5 controllers and my controller on other ps5’s with the same cables. The controllers and cables are fine.
If other consoles and controllers work, just this one controller not working with one console, this should be some weird firmware glitch. Does the controller works wired on PC?
I have the same issue. My controller randomly disconnected while playing my game and won’t reconnect. I tried many wires it works in safe mode only with the USB I reset the controller using the button in the back I reset to default settings on safe mode I tried everything and the controller is brand new nothing will make it work or sync, it worked a couple of times after restarting the ps5 so many times I lost count then it did it again mid game and now no matter what it won’t reconnect or sync Update (03/27/2022) How I solved it is I disconnected my PlayStation from the power outlet for 2 hours and then the controller worked, then after every time I finish playing I turn it off and pull it out of the power outlet and haven’t had the problem repeat
I’m having the same issue. Any tips would be appreciated!
So I talked to Sony support and they’re tracking this problem, connecting cases and trying to figure out the issue. As of right now the only thing they know is that while your console is connected to Wi-Fi the controller will stop functioning, at least in my case. If I’m not connected to Wi-Fi, or if I use a LAN cable instead, the controller functions. A temporary “fix” I’ve found is to always turn the PS5 off rather than put it into rest mode. I played offline not connected to the internet for a couple days and always turned the PS5 off, and tried reconnecting to the Wi-Fi and it worked just fine. After the software update yesterday it stopped working again though, so I’ll try not connecting to the internet for a couple days and see if it wants to work again. So basically try using a LAN cable, or keep your console offline for at least 48 hours and try the Wi-Fi again. Always make sure to turn the console off rather than putting it in rest mode as well. If your device is already trying to connect to Wi-Fi when you turn it on and the controller won’t work put it in safe mode and select default settings, that will disconnect you from any saved networks. Hope this helps someone.
I also have this problem, and while this isn’t a complete solve I did find a work around. For whatever reason my controller will only work if I have the internet hard wired vs wifi. My wifi is great, there’s been no changes, but suddenly one day my controller would do the blue blink but not connect except on safe mode. After a couple days of scouring the internet and finding nothing that helped, I tried using simply connecting it to the internet via LAN, shutting down the ps5, and turning it on with the controller and now it works. But only when the ps5 is connected directly, never on wifi still.
From my experience, this happened at least 5 times. Yes, 5 hard resets. However, the first 2 was 1yr ago and about 6months apart almost. The last 3 happened over the course of 2months up until yesterday. I noticed that when I connect the system to an internet connection that tends to dump the system from time to time ie. Hotels, free wifi areas, city wifi, that’s when it trips the system somehow. I tested that recently at the hotel I’m staying at, where the system tripped the last 3 times. I had the system connected to my T-Mobile Hotspot and it was working superb as always. I left and came back and the system had auto connected to the hotel wifi and that’s when it started tripping again. However all I had to do was turn the system off. I reconnect to my Hotspot and it’s superb all night and the controllers was still paried. I then wake up this morning and the system was back on the hotel wifi and the controllers started tripping again and would connect. Just flash orange, blink blue then turn off. So I notice for me and maybe you, it may be the internet connection interfering with the bt receiver on the system somehow or Idk honestly so, try a different wifi/hotspot source if you can’t get it to work properly. If you don’t have another then it’s going to be constantly factory restting unfortunately. If you’ve figured out another way share it with me but this finally worked for me. I’ve tried everything from every forum, YouTube, fb suggestion, for the last 1yr. I hope this is informative and help others because it’s very aggravating paying so much for somthing and somthing so small shuts down the entire system. Ie. #ControllerConnection
Hi I have the same issue but if you connect a lan cable instead of WiFi it will work. Not ideal I know but seems to have an issue on WiFi module.
