so i have the a1989 2.3ghz (2018 13” mbp with touch bar) and i got a new keyboard and screen for it myself because apple wouldn’t fix it for some reason… so i try starting the computer up and the apple logo and progress bar are on screen but then the screen MOSTLY turns black for about 30 seconds and then goes back to normal. also when i close the lid the computer won’t go to sleep and sometimes it messes with the touch bar.
There are magnetic switches to either side of the keyboard evident when the bottom cover is removed, right? On the far side edges. Perhaps those aren’t working? This model has that ‘boot up when the lid is raised’ feature – annoying as all get out. Just guessing here. Not sure what you mean by ‘messing with the touch bar’ – elaborate?
