Hi, I have a problem with my iPod 4th gen, 30gb model number A1099. Whenever I turn on the backlight, the colours on my screen are inverted. I am the original owner of this iPod and I am pretty sure this was not how the backlight worked when it came out of the factory. I think this might be a hardware problem and less of a software problem and I dread having to mess with what is otherwise a fully functioning iPod. I hope the fix for this isn’t too difficult but I am aware replacing the display will require removing everything including the logic board. The display itself works fine, only when the backlight is turned on the colours are inverted. Thanks!
Just to be sure it isn’t a software problem, restore the iPod in iTunes first. If that doesn’t work, try replacing the display. And if that doesn’t work, you will need to replace the logic board. iPod 4th Generation or Photo Display Replacement iPod 4th Generation or Photo Logic Board Replacement
