So this just started happening yesterday and I’m not sure if it’s a Flexgate issue. I have a crazy amount of lines across the screen that flicker and disturb the visual clarity. If I plug in a monitor or close the screen to 30 degrees it all goes away. What’s peculiar is the lines get more intense depending on the open windows, or position of windows in the screen. It’s really frustrating because i desperately need my macbook for work and all repair places in Australia are full up for weeks. I bought it in 2018 and it’s a 2017 model. I’ve attached some pictures and you can see how it changes when i change windows or move them

I do fear you have a display type of issue but its not original FlexGate issue which was the backlight ribbon cable was getting damaged just using the system. Here I suspect the T-CON board has failed (which is part of the display assembly) lets make sure, plug in an external monitor via TB3 to HDMI or VGA dongle to your TV or monitor. Does the problem show up there? If not then we know its the T-CON. If it’s visible on the external then the issue is within the logic board graphics services (here the Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640 engine within the CPU unit). Depending on where you live you may still have warranty coverage! The EU has a two year requirement. Even still you might have an out if you bought AppleCare+ support contract. Otherwise you’ll need a new display assembly to fix this. Are you up to replacing it? Do you have the needed tools and finger dexterity?
