Chosen Solution
Alright so… me being the stupid teenager i am, I dropped my iphone in my cheesecake. It’s stuck in the headphone jack and my volume doesn’t work, it’s also in the microphone and speaker. I don’t have enough money to replace the phone or the components, please give me a cheap hack to fix my phone! My mom will kill me if she finds out what happened :(
Best option at this stage is to turn the phone off and use the sim pin that came with it (or something equally small, like an earring) and clean out as much as possible. Make sure the headphone port and the lightning port are as clean as possible. If you have fine tweezers, a small amount of cotton wool on the end of them could also help. If the above is unsuccessful you will need to have the headphone jack ribbon cable replaced.
On a dry day, place it next to a bed of sugar ants. They will fairly quickly have it cleaned out.
Try using a vacuum cleaner to suck out the bits of cheesecake from the headphone jack. Also use it to attempt to clean the speaker and mic. Use tweezers and a pin carefully to do the rest. Otherwise, my only other thoughts are to clean it of cheesecake as much as possible and dare I say it, return it under warranty. Regards, Barney
