Hi I need to replace the charging port on an iPhone 7. It will not charge in order to delete all sensitive data from phone. Replacing the charging port is beyond my skill level. I am suspicious of sending the phone to a 3rd party to carry out the repair as there is lots of sensitive data on the phone. Is this data accessible to the repairer or will the data be safe. The phone was secured with fingerprint ID and a passcode before the fault. Thanks!
The data will be secure enough if you don’t give them a passcode, but there will be enough of a headache to properly test the phone beyond simple charging test. Back up your data before repair, or just wipe the phone.
