As the subject says, my taptic engine (vibrating function), charging port, and mic are not functioning after replacing lightning charging port assembly. Are there any easy answers for this problem? If not, I’ll just disassemble the whole thing again and double check everything. Thanks!
Either charging dock cable got damaged, was not plugged in properly or the replacement part was defective. You’ll need to double check the connection and the charging flex ribbon cable for damage.
So first off the main call microphone is attached to the charge port. The contacts for your tactic are also part of the chargeport. This means you either shorted those connections when you put the new port in place, or they were bad to begin with. You should always be grounded to avoid ESD into your device, however it sounds like the whole port isnt working. Definitley try reseating connection (Remove battery and hold power button for full discharge. ) Then reboot. If nothing still works, get a replacment lightning port. Also try the orginal again if you havent destroyed it or thrown it away. They tend to start working. Use a tooth pick to clean inside the OEM charge port. most charge ports arent bad and just need a cleaning.
