Toshiba tv ;- no red standby light, doesnt power up,no sound, nothing at all.. JVC tv ;- standby light on,the sound comes out but when the screen about to comes out, crackles sound followed by small explode sound comes out from the tv and suddenly the tv out of power.i switched off thw button and unplug it.after 10minutes i tried to switch it on again but it doesnt powered up just like the toshiba tv. Jeban tv ;- it does have the solid red standby light but when i switch on the button on the tv nothing comes out from the tv neither the screen, the sound or the white flash light.. Is it still can be repaired and how much does it gonna cost me?

You have three different units here without any model numbers (they will help quite a bit). Note: CRT TVs use VERY high voltages for the tube which can cause severe injury. If you have not worked on one of these, please DO NOT open them up. Toshiba: This unit probably has multiple problems one of which is a blown fuse. The most common failure point for these types of TVs is what is called the HOT (Horizontal Output Transistor) which shorts and will cause hte fuse to blow. I would start there. JVC: Same as the above. The crackling was the high voltage arcing which likely ended up shorting the HOT. Please note that the arcing may have come from the Horizontal Output Transformer which is another common failure part. This part is not likely to be available any more and will be expensive if available. Jeban: Not familiar with this brand and I have no idea about this one. Sorry. Dan
