Chosen Solution
I was printing many pages and forgot to check it. When I checked it said paper jam. I checked, no paper jam. I reset it and one of these errors comes up. Carriage slams into left wall when turning on then shows either error0xE3 or 0xE5. I cleaned the clear strip, cleaned the ink pad under ink plate. Unplugged, let sit for over 30 minutes. Plugged it back in, it went through the steps but at the final slide of the carriage, it slammed into the left wall.
Don’t forget to clean the optical sensor in the carriage that detects it’s position on the ‘clear’ ribbon (it should have stripes on it). Dirt can ‘blind’ it so it does not detect a correct position.
