Does the iPod touch 4 generation have a replaceable internal protection device when they get overcharged? It got extremely hot and is totally dead now.

Yeah, It doesn’t look like an easy thing to fix, I would probably skip the 4th and 5th generation iPod Touches and go to a 7th or 8th gen one. Ipod Classics are even worse. iPod Nanos (The older ones) looked harder to fix, Apple makes it that way so we spend more on better electronics. I would go with a Galaxy Music player or a Microsoft Zune. I would like it if Apple made better music players. Update (11/25/2018) O.K. You know that is what happens when you buy a non-apple charger. I think maybe you had it charging way too long, not to be mean or get kicked off of this site. I have always told my mom, that there is software and different electronics involved when you get a non OEM charger.
