Can I install a 2009 logic board into a 2012 Macbook Pro
So their are a few issues with attempting this. While both boards seem to have a similar layout for its standoffs, the 2012 board has several different ports for the camera, battery, Airport/Bluetooth, and Optical drive. It’s also worth pointing out that if you’re replacing a core component like the logic board, then you might just want to start looking for a new computer at that point as the logic board is pretty much the computer itself.
Simple answer - No! There are quite a few physical differences as well as cable connections which are different. There really is no benefit putting an older logic board within a newer case. Why would want to do this?
