hello, i took apart a friends phone to replace a shattered screen for her, everything went fine, and from what i can tell everything in the phone is working properly. i am concerned tho, i was left with this piece, and no idea where it goes. it is a small metal clip with what appears to be a contact point. i cannot recall at which stage in my teardown this peice came loose. here are some images of the thing. http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n93/h… http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n93/h… also, i have a small strip of rubber, shown here. http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n93/h… both pictures have proximity to the home button for sizing.
This goes on top of the iPhone 4 wifi antenna/bracket. It is very important part without that your wifi signal will be very weak. See this picture here to get better idea.
The small piece of rubber goes on top of the edge of the logic board, to the left of the small bracket john answered about. It is a spacer that holds the top cables aligned.
