Chosen Solution
I was changing the screen on an iPad 4. I don’t believe I was particularly rough. Nevertheless, the connector for the smaller cable of the digitizer is damaged. Is there anyway this can be repaired be mere mortals, or does it have to be chucked? (I suspect the repair fee will be higher than the iPad is worth)
Stick the flex in there then fold a piece in paper like a post it note in half and then cut it to size and squeeze it between the flex and the top layer of gold pins u might need to pick out the remaining black piece of the top though
It’s almost like the black plastic bit has been melted to the pins or something. It isn’t budging. What I’d like to do is take a needle and pick it out through the spaces between the gold pi s, but I worry anything metal might short something
