Can The Ram From 2012 Macbook Pro Work On 2011 One Macbook Pro 13 Unibody Early 2011

Hi, I have recently upgraded the ram of my 2012 MacBook Pro 13" from 8gb to 16gb. My father has a MacBook Pro 13" early 2011 with i7 and only 4gb of ram and wants upgrade as well. I am wondering if the ram from my 2012 MacBook Pro will work on 2011 ones? Thanks.

The 2012 uses 1600MHz RAM, where as the 2011 uses 1333MHz RAM. In my experience you can swap them and the 2011 will just down clock the RAM so it’s using it at the 1333MHz. Though I will always recommend using the manufacturers speeds.
