Looking to put 8, possibly 16 gbs of ram in the Toshiba C55D-B5206. Toshiba’s website says it is not user upgrade able but doesn’t say why. Are the ram sticks soldered to the board?
I don’t believe the RAM is soldered, it appears to have a bios lock and that is what is not allowing the RAM upgrade, perhaps flashing the bios to a newer version may allow you to upgrade the RAM, Crucial shows the machine can be configured up to 16 GB. Hope fully that helps.
