Without having to get a new laptop, is there any way to swap out the screen for another 13” MBP that has a higher resolution than the native 1280x800? I’ve read on here of it being done on the 15” but would like to know if anyone’s attempted it on the 13”; and if so, how! Thanks
Sadly, no. Your system uses an older interface standard called LVDS. The newer displays use a very different interface standard called iDP. There is no means to connected it internally. Your only hope is to use an external display but the limits of the intergraded graphics engine Intel had within the CPU also limits you on what is possible. In addition, Apple never offered a hires display option on the older Unibody 13” models, only the 15”
Hey Dat This switch is certainly possible it really just comes down to if the board supports the new screen. If it does and your connections are the same you are good to go. Good Luck!
