Siri stopped working and I tried turning Siri off and back on. I wasn’t able to go through the “hey Siri” setup. It had images of noise while nothing is said. I tried a front self video and the sound is scratchy. I have also tried a full restore and reload…. after tapping on the microphone at front camera, it is working now but I’m sure it will quit again.
Hi yes, the microphone is replaceable however I believe you need to desolder and solder a new one on. If you want to replace the whole front assembly then Face ID will no longer function. If I remember correctly only swapping out the microphone won’t affect Face ID.
