My dsi stopped reading game carts, so I took a toothpick and lifted the “door” in the game cart reader in order to see the pins and they were bent (like 6 or 7, I also took it apart in order to make sure it was that), so I looked online for replacements, but I only found very expensive ones (I don’t live in the us and purchasing on ebay isn’t that reliable because of the shipping cost) and the only cheap one I found was a 3ds cart reader that looked almost the same as the dsi cart reader. Hi Yes you can solder a new one on but you might want to get some practice in first or have it done by a reputable repair store If you decide to do it I recommend using a small soldering Iron tip with a quality solder ,wick and flux If you are only using a soldering iron you might want to buy some chip quick as it melt’s very easily which makes it easy to take the old port off Or you could use a hot air station to take It off ,just don’t use hot air for putting it on unless you get the opposite side of the board it the same area as you could melt the plastics on the connector As for practice I recommend using some of those fault board and just try and take things off and put them back on Hopefully this helps Any questions please ask Thanks:-)
