Can T Watch Jvc Tv With My Tinted Glasses Television

My issue is that I can’t watch my Jvc TV wearing my prescription glasses. They have a slight tint and were OK on my old TV. The picture is just blacked out. Is this a tv issue (settings, contrast etc) or my glasses although they worked fine on my last TV. Any advise will be appreciated. Jim Irvine

Hi @jimmyirvine Maybe a bit awkward but try viewing the TV with the glasses turned at 90° to normal i.e. wear vertical instead of the normal horizontal. If the screen is now clear the tinted glasses have a polarizing effect on the light from the screen. It is the same using mobile phones when wearing polarized sunglasses. If you turn the phone 90° to normal the screen goes from being dark (or usually black) to normal. I don’t know how you overcome this but this may prove what the problem is. You may just have to get a pair of non tinted prescription glasses to wear whilst watching TV
