Hi there, I have an Mid2014 Retina and used it very often like 8-12 hours a day. A few weeks ago I got the message to change the battery. In my holiday (from EU to Mexico) my macBook worked for about two days and after that I can’t power it up anymore. I replaced the battery yesterday. The MagSafe was showing a Orange light and today it’s green. So I think the battery is fully charged. But I can’t still turn it on! What options do I have to get the MacBook running again? I am not sure if this is a problem but the first chip on the SSD is getting a little bit hot when charging.
I would open it up, and disconnect the battery and SSD and try to boot the laptop. The computer should boot, and show a blinking question mark folder. If this doesn’t work, then there is very likely something wrong with the logic board and something will need to be fixed on there.
You might need to do a SMC reset. It’s worked for me in the passed when ive replaced batteries. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964
