Can T Open Battery Compartment Due To Battery Leakage Belkin Yourtype Keypad

I have a Belkin YourType Wireless KeyPad Model F8TO67 and can’t open the battery compartment due to battery leakage. It’s one of those screw-on compartments where you slide in two AA batteries like the old Apple Wireless Keyboards. I tried soaking the whole thing in vinegar and baking soda, but no joy. Anyone have any ideas or know how to take it apart?

Hi @bcassidy Since it won’t unscrew maybe try drilling two small holes in the cap as far apart as possible but not right at the edge (don’t want to damage the thread) and then use something like a set of snap ring pliers and inserting it into the holes and then try unscrewing it with them.
