To speed up my old MacBook Pro, I replaced my spinning disk with a new SSD (Kingston 120GB V3000, Sata3) and new memory (8Gig). After I replaced the hardware, I tried installing Yosemite via a bootable USB, but I can’t seem go get it working. The installer either restates mid way through or it fails to various reasons. I’ve bin trying with various methods and I still can’t get it to work, and it’s frustrating because I can’t find anyone else who had the same problem. Hoping for a solution soon… Please let me know if you need more information Cheers !
Run Disk Utilities and format the drive Mac OS X extended -journaled. Then install your system.
